Sometimes I like to do things and go places, and when I do and go, I often take
with me my handy-dandy digital camera. This section of my webpage is devoted
to the display of the pictures that the aforementioned camera has rendered me.
In December of 2002, I retired the Olympus D-360L, and in January of 2003, I ordered
a Canon S30. It should produce higher-quality photographs for your viewing pleasure,
and I will no longer have to keep pumping it full of fresh, expensive batteries. I have
no electric bill, so I should have a rechargable camera. Anyway, starting with the
forthcoming Ireland trip, all future pictures on this website will be of a higher grade on
quality. The things I do for you people...
After the airline incident in April 2003, I had to hold the camera up to my face to use it,
so I persevered for a bit more than a year, before I broke down a picked up another
camera, this time a Canon Powershot s410 ELPH.
By October 2005, the Elph had sustained a nasty amount of damage, and I decided it
was time to give it up, just after the trip to Brian's wedding. After that point, it was
corrupting more than half the pictures I took with it, and it had taken to beeping angrily
when I would press the shutter release. I also had decided that whatever repairs I could
have put it through would not really be worth it, as it just didn't take very good pictures,
especially indoors. I mentioned to various people that I was in the market for a lower
megapixel camera, with a relatively decent-sized lens, and Joel came through, with a
Fuji e550 that he received for free in the not-too-distant past, and was looking to get
rid of for a modest sum. One plus one, equals a nice new camera for me. Here it is.
